I occasionally see these and think that as they get older one might become a good idea. Then I give myself a good talking to and I'm better again.

handsome cars. from behind.

I rather like them. But I'd rather get a pug 407 coupe if I'm honest..

TG Magazine described that car as looking "like a gay shark" when it first came out and I still can't unsee it......

I don't care :P Sharks are cool :P

Waiting for Panda Tamer to rave about Renault reliability.

I think they look great, but a big FWD coupé just isn't my thang, even with rear-steer like some models had.

It's nice... from the A-pillars back.

I knew I recognized the Mercedes S-Coupe's taillights from somewhere else.

Dude, the real way to go is Pininfarina-styled 406...
Ok, maybe not those wheels, but you get the idea...
![]() 03/23/2015 at 19:48 |

They are rather sleek from the front...

It DOES look great, but I've owned 30 to 50 "old" to old cars the last 16 years, and I'd rather not own any more old french cars anymore, I only have room for one car so it needs to be something that won't break down.

That looks like a cross between a DB9 and a 2000ish Mercury Cougar from that angle.

Haha, I feel you since old Swedish cars aren't always the most reliable things...

Old Swedish cars are cheap to fix here though, that's why I'll replace my '96 Ford Fiesta with a '95 Saab 9000 :P

are these related to the Altima?

Same platform as per Wiki.

Looks good from the back.

Somewhat true here, though my dad's old 740 N/A had some transmission issues that he wasn't willing to drop $1,500-$2,000 into...

I had never heard of this car before this post. Initial reaction: Love the rear, Hate the front.

As the owner of a 406 coupe: they don't break down. I bought mine with 167k km on it in October 2012. It's at 245k km now, and I've done nothing to it but normal maintenance like filters and fluids. I also preventively replaced the battery. That's it. A 406, known for its reliability, will cost you less in maintenance than the less reliable but newer 407.
Having said that, high costs are coming for my 406. Timing belt (125k km and 10 years old...), radiator and tires. Nothing the car can help.

They did come with a Nissan V6. Supposedly this generation of Laguna is relatively reliable, especially after the horror that was the early previous gen Laguna.

I can definitely see the resemblance to the Altima coupe.

Hmm.. perhaps I should start looking for a 406 then.

I prefer this to the Altima though
